FALSE CEILING
VANS Gypsum GRG False ceilings and drywalls
A fine blend of aesthetics and precision engineering

Though essential, economy stills remains the chief deciding factor when choosing false ceiling and dry wall products. The resultant race to provide the cheapest possible solution is almost the sole reason for the flood of sub-standard material in this particular product segment’, says Peter Raj Kapoor, Director, VANS Gypsum Pvt Ltd.

False ceilings have long remained a component of relatively little importance when considering the well being of a building’s inhabitants. This lack of scrutiny has lead to the proliferation of several materials into the market that are proven to be potential health hazards. The growing importance of green building has also resulted in a range of‘eco-friendly’ building material with the prerequisite percentage of recycle content that in several cases has resulted in sub-standard products. This aside, the potential of a modular false ceiling to add a completely new dimension to the internal aesthetics of a room is only slowly beginning to emerge.

Known for centuries as the ‘miracle fertiliser’ and the cause of the Nova Scotian Plaster war in 1820, Gypsum has long been a mineral of historic value not only in agriculture but in healthcare as well. Its inherent properties of water resistance, fire resistance and insulation, among several others, have made gypsum an essential component in several building materials. VANS Gypsum’s range of Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) false ceilings and drywalls are manufactured from 100% pure gypsum. A unique yet simple technology is applied to each handmade product resulting in a range that provides an unparalleled indoor environment. VANS Gypsum’s products are not only hygienic enough for hospitals but also aesthetically appealing enough for the plushest corporate offices.

An omnipresent problem with false ceilings is sagging and staining. Most false ceiling material tends to absorb and retain moisture which causes it to stain, expand, sag and crack. The retained moisture provides a base for the growth of fungus, mould and bacteria which can lead to severe respiratory infections. VANS Gypsum RH 96 ceilings and drywalls do not retain any absorbed moisture therefore eliminating each of these problems. In addition to water resistance, VANS Gypsum GRG False ceilings and Drywalls serve as a natural fire retardant. When exposed to direct flame, water vapour is released as a result of the dehydration of gypsum which helps in preventing the fire from spreading.

Often overlooked, the ceiling presents an almost uninterrupted space that if so desired can be designed to dramatically alter the internal aesthetics of a room. VANS Gypsum’s range of over 25 ceiling tiles presents an unprecedented opportunity to do just that. The pristine whiteness of each product ensures that even a plain Premium range ceiling will add an entirely new dimension to any room, not to mention the plethora of design possibilities available through the SELECTS and Signature ranges.

The growing sense of accountability within the construction industry has lead to the designing of buildings that are energy efficient, occupant friendly and have the least impact on natural resources required for its construction and maintenance. Each product is 100% recyclable and does not result in burning eyes or itching skin which can be caused by harmful emissions and certain recycled materials. Gypsum’s inherent property as a natural insulator also ensures that a VANS Gypsum false ceiling and drywall will substantially reduce the air-conditioning requirements of the building.
