Pune based JVS Comatsco Industries Pvt Ltd exhibited Ecolite – Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) blocks. The Ecolite AAC blocks are made from environment friendly raw material and are an ideal building material. They are made using Portland cement which is mixed with quartz (silica/PFA), water and an aeration agent, poured into a mould. The reaction between aeration agent and concrete causes millions of microscopic bubbles to form, expanding the concrete. That gives the blocks its unique properties. These clocks are then cut to size and formed by steam-curing in a pressurised chamber (a9tutolcave). The result is a non-organic, non-toxic, airtight material that can be used for walling.
An influential factor in material space, AAC blocks facilitate sustainable constructions. The energy consumed in the production of AAC blocks is only a fraction compared to other traditional materials. It does not depend on fossil fuels and instead uses otherwise redundant thermal power waste, fuel ash. The blocks reflect high thermal efficiency with twice the amount of embodied energy as traditional materials which save energy for heating and cooling. The blocks are available in a variety of forms, ranging from wall and roof panels to blocks and lintels.
