Sony Spin Club in Kharghar is one of its kind exclusive Cycle spin club, wherein a 45 minutes workout is designed by coach to increase strength, stamina and tone body for better endurance levels.

The founder Rajendra Soni, who himself was a 12 times national cycling champion, approached designer architect Gulshan Kumar of FADU studio with a simple brief of an open plan to accommodate 20 spin cycles in an area of 700 sqft which also has a Coach’s cabin, two changing rooms, 30 lockers area, and two wash rooms. Since the floor layout consisted of two centrally placed RCC columns, the designers had to revolve around these focal points of the layout.

As the designer went in depth of understanding the working of the spin club, the more complex thought process of colors and ambience lighting took place and result was a semicircular profile in plan.

It created a central location of trainer’s cycle next to the 35 feet long mirror wall.

In front of the trainer cycle, other 10 cycles were placed next to each other so that all trainees face towards the mirror wall, thereby  creating an illusion of double space of the hall.
