Cutting taxes on small enterprises & lower income citizens, encouraging affordable housing & the rural economy and according infrastructure status to low cost housing have brought in cheer: The Budget has impacted the real estate sector in a big way. The sector has been going through rather uncertain times for the past couple of years and this boost is important as it is the second-biggest employment generator after agriculture, and contributes between 5-6% to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). We are carrying in this issue budget reactions from a few sector leaders.

The focus story in this issue is on Fire safety and how high performing fire resistant glass can indeed resist fire for a few hours.

Fire and fire related hazard can cause not only loss of life and property but also critical data in office spaces and government buildings.
