India to steer forward Green Building movement in Asia Pacific Region

In a major acknowledgment and appreciation to India’s efforts in spearheading global green building movement, Sundaresan Raghupathy, Deputy Director General of CII and in-charge of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has been elected as Regional Chair of the Asia Pacific Regional Network – a group of 15 Green Building Councils currently working to advance green buildings within the region. His term for this position is for two years, starting 1 July 2017.

Raghupathy, who is already a Board Member of World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), has been appointed for his leadership in the green building movement and dedication to improving the sustainability of buildings, both in India and at the regional level.

Dr Prem C Jain, Chairman, said that India has so much in common between the Councils of APN. It will be wonderful for all of us to inherit the best practices of each individual Country in the Region, he underlined.

Raghupathy’s visionary leadership would facilitate in generating new green building ideas and design solutions that would accelerate the adoption of green building across the region.
