The new iconic administrative building of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in BKC, Mumbai is a nine storey iconic Green building. Inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently, it is designed with energy efficient lighting and HVAC systems and is equipped with modern auditorium, board rooms, two-level basement, two service floors and ample parking space etc. The building also provides for sewage treatment plant, rain water harvesting and solar panels among other facilities.
The office building is designed and built by Team One Architects and features a column free-space on all floors. While the main staircase and lift lobbies is provided with granite flooring,LED lights, high ceilings, skylight and floor-to ceiling windows create abundant natural light in work and common areas. The complex is also equipped with 250-seater hi-tech auditorium.The lobbies and entrance are provided with Italian marble flooring. The L-shaped commercial building represents an evolutionary approach to exploit the L-shaped plot. The actual envelope of the building is composed of durable glazed units.
