March 11 is celebrated as World Plumbing Day and in a bid to recognise and value the role of a Plumber, Hindware has been organising ‘Plumbers meet’ along with its partner associations on that day every year with participation from more than 500 plumbers across the country. The meet focuses on imparting knowledge on contemporary technical advancements in the industry, sophisticated product designing, installation techniques, and customer interactions which will aid them to further educate the customer. Overall the aim is to provide a sense of pride in their profession and make them economically self-sufficient so that they can earn a better living.
Attached to this initiative is the ‘plumber of the month’ appreciation programme, where the plumbers are awarded a certificate of recognition based on customer feedback and work undertaken. The certificate adds value to his/her skill set, is a small token of appreciation and motivation.
“To develop a healthy relationship with our consumers, a strong after-sales service network is a necessity and the role of the plumber in a consumer’s decision making process cannot be ignored,” said, Sandip Somany, JMD, HSIL Limited. Furthermore, such endeavours help boost the plumbing profession and the industry which is suffering from shortage of skilled labour.
