The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is organising its annual Young Architects Festival (YAF 14) in Kerala on 21st-22nd February. Hosted by the Cochin Centre of the Kerala Chapter of IIA, the theme of the festival is ‘Be the Change’.
Set to be hosted at the beautiful Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort at Kochi, the festival aims to bring about an enhanced understanding of architecture and a renewed thought process. It will comprise debates and discussions on the core professional practice of architecture and allied fields of architecture, a mix of technical and non-technical sessions, cultural programmes and photography and sculpture competitions/workshops. The speakers at the event include include Architects Ashok B Lall, Adrian Welke, John Lin (Hongkong), & Carin Smuts and Troppo Architects (Perth, Australia) and CS Studio Architects, Cape Town. A design competition for architects and students from India is being conducted as a part of the festival for inviting concepts for an iconic structure that will adorn Kochi.
